Into the Garden

Fourteen hours and we arrived to a cool, rainy Tokyo last evening.  Having a one hour layover before our connecting flight to Okinawa was intimidating, but everyone at the Narita International airport was very nice and helpful.
Nan and I arrived in Okinawa, Japan about 9 p.m. last night.  Our son in law met us at the airport and brought us to our new residence for the next three months.  My daughter made cupcakes, stocked the refrigerator with all sorts of Japanese food items (bento boxes, green tea mochi, beer) so we sat around and snacked and talked until after midnight.
I went to bed, opening up the doors to the outside deck of our bedroom and gazed out over the water at the flickering lights of Ikei Island.  After an absence of almost twenty years the smell of plumeria and the cool sea breeze once again beckoned Hypnos to invite me into his realm.
Oyasumi nasai...
